Bharti Airtel Ltd posted a 108 per cent surge in consolidated net profit to Rs 8,651 crore for the July-September quarter of FY26, powered by premium smartphone users and robust postpaid additions, the telecom giant announced Monday.
Revenue from operations climbed 26 percent year-on-year to Rs 52,145 crore from Rs 41,473 crore, with India operations – including passive infrastructure – jumping 22.6 per cent to Rs 38,690 crore.
Excluding Indus Towers, India revenue rose 10 percent YoY. Average revenue per user (ARPU), a key health metric, hit Rs 256 – up 10 per cent from Rs 233 and beating rival Reliance Jio’s Rs 211.4.
Airtel added 5.1 million smartphone customers sequentially, taking its India base to 449.7 million, up 10.6 percent annually.
“A solid quarter with 5.4 percent sequential revenue growth reflects portfolio strength,” Managing Director Gopal Vittal said.
Postpaid net adds reached 950,000, pushing the segment to 27.5 million users.
Airtel Africa delivered a 36 per cent rupee revenue jump to Rs 13,679 crore, with constant-currency growth at 7.1 per cent.
Total subscribers swelled 10.7 percent to 623.5 million. Monthly mobile data usage rose 26.6 percent to 28.3 GB per user, though trailing Jio’s 38.7 GB.
Capital expenditure stood at Rs 11,362 crore, with Rs 9,643 crore in India. Net debt fell 5 per cent to Rs 1,94,713 crore. Shares rose 0.93 per cent to close at Rs 2,073.75 on BSE.
