Panic Reaction From PM Modi For Raising Adani Issue, Will Keep Up Heat: Rahul Gandhi On Being Disqualified As Lok Sabha MP

Congress leader Rahul Gandhi on Saturday dubbed his disqualification from the Lok Sabha as “panic reaction” of the BJP-led government at the Centre to his raising the issue involving Gautam Adani’s empower and the industrialist’s “relationship” with Prime Minister Narendra Modi.

Addressing a press conference, Gandhi also said that he was disqualified as a Lok Sabha MP Following his conviction in a criminal defamation case in Modi’s home state Gujarat as Prime Minister was “terrified” of his next speech in the Lower House.

“But I am not scared and I can’t be cowed down with such reactions. Even If am disqualified permanently or put behind the bars, I don’t care. I will continue fighting for the democracy. I will continue defending democratic structure of this country. That’s my job. That is in my blood,” the Congress leader said.

He said the ruling BJP ministers first moved a motion seeking his apology on their “baseless” charge of him having extended an invitation to “foreign forces” intervention in Indian democracy and then he was disqualified as Lok Sabha MP in a bid to stop him from raising issues involving Adani and prevailing state of democracy in India under Modi regime

“The moot question here remains that who invested Rs 20000 crore into Adani’s shell companies and what is his Prime Minister Narendra Modi’s relationship with Adani,” Gandhi said, alleging that there isna “close partnership” between Modi and Adani since the former was the Chief Minister of Gujarat.

Both Adani and Modi hails from Gujarat.

“My disqualification as the Lok Sabha MP is panic reaction from Prime Minister Modi,” he claimed, adding, “The prime minister is scared of my next speech.”

But this will neither prevent the Congress mor the other opposition parties from raising their voice against the current state of affairs in India, he asserted.

“The Opposition will continue pressing the Adani issue,” he asserted while replying to questions at the press conference
The opposition will benefit most with his disqualification as a Member of Parliament (MP), Gandhi also asserted, adding “they have given a powerful weapon to us.”
